What is a PD?

What is a P.D. or Pupillary Distance?

1. Your P.D. measures the distance between your eyes and is part of your eye exam
2. Your prescription must include a P.D. Other specifics on material and lens type are sometimes helpful

Knowing your P.D. can save you hundreds of dollars on your eye glasses.

How do I read my P.D.?

If you have only one number it is the distance P.D. At times you may see two numbers (eg 62/58 mm) . The second number is the near P.D. but is not required based on standard near eye positioning.

Most adult PD's are between 54-70
Most children's PD's are between 41-55
